AC Milan and Benfica qualifies for Champions League last eight!


AC Milan of Italy and Benfica of Portugal are through to this season's UEFA Champions League quarter finals. Arsenal FC defeated AC Milan by three goals to nil while Benfica claimed a two nil win over Zenit Saint Petersburg of Russia in the other match that was played in Portugal. Lauren Koscielney gave Arsenal a 6th minute lead via a header off a corner kick. On the 26th minute, Tomas Rosicky made it 2-0 to the Londoners before Robin Van Persie's 45th minute penalty goal. The second half produced no goals as both teams missed scoring opportunities.Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Robin Van Persie missed clear chances to score in the second half. Arsenal dominated the possession of the game throughout the match but the Italians have qualified on a 4-3 aggregate after their 4-0 win at the San Siro three weeks ago. They will be joined by Benfica that dispatched 2008 UEFA Cup winners with two goals from  Pereira and Oliveira were enough for the Portuguese giants to progress to the next stage. The last time Benfica reached the quarter finals was in the 2005/2006 season when they lost to Barcelona of Spain.
