Manchester United regained the leadership of the English Premier League on Sunday afternoon after a two nil victory at the Old Trafford. Wayne Rooney scored a brace to send Alex Ferguson's team back to the summit of the EPL for the first time in five months. West Bromwich Albion came to Old Trafford on the back of three successive wins which also included a 1-0 victory over Chelsea. Roy Hodgson's men fell to the superior fire power of Manchester United that included Hernandez,Welbeck and Rooney in the starting line up. Hernandez delivered a cross that Rooney slotted into the net after 35 minutes of play before adding a second goal from the penalty spot after 71 minutes.
Peter Odemwingie was denied a penalty in the first half. Manchester City lost to Swansea City by a lone goal to relinquish their leadership status. Manchester City will host Sporting Lisbon on Thursday before they tackle Chelsea next weekend.
