Three Nigerian clubs will be involved in CAF Club competitions this weekend. Warri Wolves will be the guest of Black Leopards of South Africa in the third round CAF Confederations Cup game that will be played this weekend. The Nigerians won the first leg by three goals to one. In another Confederations Cup encounter that will be played in Congo, Heartland FC must avoid a 1-0 defeat when they play their second leg match. The Owerri based side won the first leg by a slim 3-2 margin a fortnight ago. A draw or a win will be enough for them to progress to the next round of the competition.
Meanwhile, Sunshine Stars will host Djoliba FC of Mali in their third round CAF Champions League match that will be played at the Dipo Dina International Stadium in Ijebu-Ode,South West Nigeria. The Nigerians were held to a 1-1 draw in the first leg match that took place in Bamako two weeks ago. The Nigerians were trapped in the troubled Malian capital for almost a week before all their players and officials could return home. A win of any margin or a goalless draw will be enough for the Nigerian team to qualify for the money-spinning stage of this year's top continental club competition.
