Cristiano Ronaldo was the cynosure of all eyes as he led his team to the last four of the on going European Championship currently going on in Ukraine and Poland. The Real Madrid star hit the upright in each half of the match against Czech Republic on Thursday night. The National Stadium in Warsaw was filled to capacity as soccer fans enjoyed an entertaining match between the two sides. Czech Republic were the better of the two sides within the first 20 minutes of the match. After a goalless first half, the second half was largely dominated by the Portuguese side as Nani's first half frustrations came to an end after getting the better of Czech's left back player. Ronaldo eventually scored the winning goal with about ten minutes to the end of the match. Portugal will meet the winner of Saturday's clash between Spain and Italy.
The last encounter between Spain and Portugal ended in a 1-0 win for the defending World and European Champions while the Blues defeated them in the semi final stage of Euro 2000.
