Spain mauls Italy to defend Euro title.

The reigning World and European Champions have successfully defended the European trophy they won four years ago. The La Furia Roja crushed the Cesare Pandelli led Azurri side by four goals to nil in Kiev. David Silva and Jordi Alba scored two goals in the first half of the match. Cesc Fabregas ran dowwn the right flank before curling a cross that was nodded in by Silva after 15 minutes of play. Jordi Alba made it two with 5 minutes to the end of the first half.
Tiago Motta had an armstring injury in the 60th minute after the Italians had made all their substitutes for the night. The Azurris played the last 30 minutes with 10 men. Fernando Torres and Juan Mata scored the last two goals of the match after they came on for Fabregas and Xavi respectively. The Italians were completely outplayed right from the beginning of the match. Spain have won the last three major tournaments successively. This feat is a BIG history in World football. Meanwhile, five players scored 3 goals each at Euro 2012. France will host the next edition of this tournament in 2016. 24 teams will be represented at that Championship. Vamos Espania!
