The 2012/2013 league season commenced in France last weekend. Paris Saint Germain couldn't start ona winning note despite their impressive run during the pre-season friendlies. Carlo Ancelotti's men played out a two all draw against Lorient. The capital club came from two goals down to end the macth in a draw. Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored a brace in his Ligue one debut. Jeremy Menez was given a through pass within the opening moments of the game, but his effort was saved by Fabien Audard. The visitors cleared their line and a goal resulted from their first meaningful attack. Kevin Pacquet raced through the PSG defence before delivering a cross that was mistakenly tucked in by Maxwell (PSG defender.) That goal was scored after four minutes of action. Ezequiel Lavezzi tried a long range shot that was saved by Audard. The former Napoli striker should have passed the ball to Ibrahimovic who was in a better position to score. Alex lost the opportunity to score from a corner that was well taken from the right flank. Aliadiere's goal was ruled out for an offside after a good work by Alain Traore.Lorient played so well that they got several scoring chances owing to a poor defending from their big spending hosts, but they failed to utilize those chances. Lucas Mareuque finally provided an assist for a former Arsenal to fire Lorient into a two goal lead at half time. Jeremy Aliadiere was the scorer of the second goal of the day.
PSG performed better in the second half and were unlucky to have been denied a goal after Ibra's effort came off the post. Bourillon was beaten to the ball by Ibrahimovic and the Swedish International scored his first goal in French football after 64 minutes. He eventually saved his team from defeat when he converted from the penalty spot in the 89th minute.
In other games, Montpellier played a 1-1 draw against Toulouse in their quest to defend the title they won last season. Sochaux lost at home by 3-2 to Bastia. Yohan scored Lyon's only goal against Stade Rennais.
