USA defeated Canada 4-3 after extra time at the on going London 2012 Olympic games. The United States team were given a very tough time by their North American neighbours that were in front on three occasions.
The USA will now meet Japan in the gold medal match that will be played at the Olympic stadium in London. The Asians defeated France by two goals to one to make their first ever Olympic final. The reigning World champions will be the second team to win an Olympic title as reigning FIFA Women's world cup champions.
