The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) has fired Mano Menezes. The former Corinthians and Gremio manager was sacked on Friday. He was in charge of the 'Samba Boys' of Brazil for a period of two years and three months.
Brazil had a poor showing at Copa America 2011 when they lost to Paraguay in the last eight. The Brazilians won 21 matches, drew 6 and lost 6 under Menezes.
The Sao Paulo based CBF will appoint a new manager before the end of the year.
Brazil still remains the World's most successful football nation with five FIFA World cup titles. The 'selacao' will host the world in 2014.
