Chelsea vs Manchester City preview

The star match of the English premiership will be at the Stamford Bridge on Sunday evening. Chelsea will host Manchester City in Rafael Benitez's first game. The Spaniard was named as an immediate replacement for Roberto Di Matteo who was fired on Wednesday morning.

Chelsea are currently placed third on the log standings with 24 points while City are four points ahead. The 'Blues' have only won two of their last eight league games.

The reigning European champions were outclassed by Juventus in the Champions League. The match ended 3-0 in favour of the Italians.

Likely formation
Fernando Torres might return to the starting line up. The Spaniard was brought to England in 2007 by Rafael Benitez. Daniel Sturridge might make way for Victor Moses in chelsea's front line. It is unclear whether Benitez will opt for a combination of Ramirez and Mikel in the defensive midfield role.

Absentees
John Terry and Frank Lampard will miss the match due to injury.

The visitors
Roberto Mancini is battling over the fitness of Vincent Kompany. The Belgian international sustained an injury in his side's 1-1 draw against Real Madrid on Wednesday night.

Sergio Aguero and Carlos Tevez are expected to lead the attacking line of the reigning league champions while David Silva will play behind the Argentine duo.
