Arsenal FC has been knocked out of the 2012/2013 League Cup. The Capital One Cup reached its quarter final stage on Tuesday night. Bradford City played host to Arsenal in one of the four quarter final fixtures.
Thompson put the host ahead in the first half before Thomas Vermaelen equalised for the 'Gunners' towards the end of the match.
The extra time ended goalless and the two sides had to settle for penalties. Santi Cazorla,Chamakh and Vermaelen missed their spot kicks and the League One side booked their place in the semi final of the tournament despite losing two of their kicks.
Arsenal are yet to win a trophy since their FA Cup triumph in 2005.
