The Hosts
Stewart Downing is likely to replace Jose Enrique at the left back position. The Spaniard didn't complete the match against QPR on Sunday due to an injury he sustained in the second half. Downing has been in top form by operating from the right-hand side of the midfield over the past few weeks.

Martin Kelly remains a long-term injury set back for the Reds, but Fabio Borini may start from the bench. Australian keeper, Brad Jones has recovered from the viral infection he contacted some few days ago.

--> Quick Facts

  • The Reds have won 5 of their last 15 games against their visitors.
  • Luis Suarez will be willing to score in four of out of five games against Sunderland.
  • A win for Brendan Rodgers men will take them up to eight on the log standings with 31 points.
  • Liverpool have not beaten Martin O'Neill's men at Anfield in the past three years.
  • A hat trick for Suarez will make him the joint top scorer in the premier league with 16 goals.
The Visitors
Sunderland will miss the services of Wes Brown and John O'Shea. The former Manchester United players will be sorely missed by the 'Black Cats'. Titus Bramble will fill in the gap left by John O'Shea who picked up an injury in their last match.

Our prediction: Liverpool 4-1 Sunderland
Kick off: 7:45 PM GMT
Referee: Phil Dowd
