Arsenal FC have been knocked out of this season's English FA cup. The Gunners were beaten by Championship side, Blackburn Rovers. The match was played at the Emirates stadium in London. The home side dominated the game for a long period of time, but they failed to find the back of the net.
Arsene Wenger's men failed to beat the Rovers' keeper. Jake Kean made several stunning saves to ensure that The Gunners' eight year trophy drought is extended by at least another year. Tomas Rosicky hit the crossbar after in the second half before Kazim-Richards followed in on Martin Olsson's shot. Mikel Arteta's shot was also off target.
The seven changes that Arsene Wenger made to his starting line up has back-fired ahead of their UEFA Champions League clash with Bayern Munich. Theo Walcott, Jack Wilshere and Santi Cazorla were introduced into the game with 20 minutes to go.
Gervinho's meaningful contribution was a 41st minute shot that was dragged wide after he was put through by Rosicky. Abou Diaby and Thomas Vermaelen's headers were saved by Jake Kean.
In the 72nd minute, Olsson's angled shot was was palmed away by Wojciech Szczesny,but Kazim-Richards was on hand to bundle the ball into an empty net.
Walcott's last minute header wasn't good enough to save Arsenal from being sent packing by their lowly rated London rivals.
