Liverpool vs Everton Preview

These two teams are known for making the news headlines anytime they meet. The first leg of this tie ended in a pulsating 2-2 draw at the Goodison Park.

Luis Suarez was the centre of attraction on that day. The Uruguayan and former Ajax forward scored what should have been the winning goal of the day,but the centre referee wrongly disallowed the goal.

The Reds are currently a spot behind their city rivals on the log standings and both of them are bound to miss out on an Europa League spot.

Everton had an excellent start to the season, but Brendan Rodgers men struggled to win their games. The team failed to get a replacement for Andy Carroll who was on loan at West Ham.

The signing of Phillipe Coutinho and Daniel Sturridge gave Liverpool a lot of hope in the second half of the season.

The Reds lost some key games against Stoke City,Aston Villa and Southampton.

The team also surrendered a 2-0 lead against Arsenal at the Emirates stadium.

The disappointing draws against Reading and West Ham United ruled Liverpool out of European spot for next season.

David Moyes will be glad to finish above the Anfield club at the end of the season.

The form of Coutinho and Sturridge have improved in the past few games. Fellaini,Anichebe and Baines are the key players to watch for the 'Toffees'.

A Liverpool side without Luis Suarez shouldn't have a problem against Everton if the 6-0 win over Newcastle is anything to go by.

Our prediction: Liverpool4-2Everton
