World cup qualifier round-up

The 2014 FIFA World cup qualifiers continued over the weekend across various stadia in Africa. The "Hawks" of Togo defeated 1990 Word cup quarter finalists, Cameroon by 2-0 in Lome. The Togolese side recorded the victory in the absence of Emmanuel Adebayor. The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon are now second in group I.

Komlan Amewou put the home side in front after 32 minutes of action before Atakora Lalawele made it 2-0 in the 70th minute. The Sparrow Hawks are now two points behind Libya and Cameroon that are joined at the top of the group.

In Bakau, Yaya Toure was among the goal scorers as Cote d' Ivoire pummelled their hosts by three goals to nil in front of a mammoth crowd in the West African nation.

The Eagles of Mali were held to a 1-1 draw in Bamako while Guinea mauled Mozambique by 6-1. Other results are as follows:
