Aspas set to lift Liverpool

Iago Aspas has expressed his delight to propel Liverpool to a successful 2013/2014 season. The striker has scored three goals in the four pre-season games he played in Asia.

Aspas joined the Reds from Sevilla with a transfer fee of £7.7m. The young Spaniard has been handed the jersey number 9 shirt that was worn by famous Liverpool players in the past.

Andy Carroll was the last player to wear the no 9 shirt for Brendan Rodgers' men.

Aspas said that Jose Enrique who happens to be his compatriot has been helping him to understand the explanation of the team officials.

Luis Alberto and Iago Aspas are the two new Spaniards at Anfield.

Liverpool's first league game will be against Stoke City on August 17.
