Voting deadline day for BBC African player award

The casting of votes to choose the BBC African player of the year award for 2013 will close today.  The British Broadcasting Corporation had announced the five man shortlist for the award earlier in the month.

John Obi Mikel(Chelsea), Victor Moses (Chelsea loanee at Liverpool), Jonathan Pitriopa, Aubemeyang Patrick(Dortmund) and the current holder, Yaya Toure of Manchester City are the five players vying for the award.

Mikel Obi and Victor Moses were part of Nigeria's success at the African cup of nations in South Africa.  The duo also helped Chelsea to win the Europa League title in May with the lattet scoring 5 goals in 10 games.

They also helped Nigeria to qualify for Brazil 2014 World cup

Jonathan Pitriopa helped Burkina Faso to reach the African Nations Cup final in February and he was the best player of the tournament.

Ganonese striker, Patrick scored some goals for Borussia Dortmund in Germany while Yaya Toure remained a top performer for Manchester City.

The award winner will be unveiled on December 2 in London.
