African coaches needs education on awards

The confederation of African football need to educated coaches on what it takes to vote for the African player of the year award. The winner of the African nations cup should be named as the best player on the continent.

The 2013 African player of the year award was given to a Yaya Toure that didn't win anything for either club or country in 2013. John Mikel Obi imparted on African football by leading his team mates to winning the title in South Africa.

He also won the UEFA Europa league with Chelsea while Manchester City failed to win a trophy.  Yaya Toure also failed to lead his country to the Nations cup title in 2013.

CAF need to educate African coaches on the criteria for being the best player in Africa. How Drogba made the final three list for the award while he was missing fron the Africa XI team of the year? This is not the African premier league player of the year.

Meanwhile, it is time for Mikel to join another club where he can be playing as an attacking midfielder just like he does for Nigeria. Jose Mourinho's decision to play him in the defence has limited his attacking ability.
It seems African player of the year is now African top scorer of the year.
