The quarter final stage of the on going African Nations Championship has been completed. The four teams that qualified for the semi final of the tournament are Nigeria,Zimbabwe,Libya and Ghana.

The last group match ended in a 3-1 win in favour of the reigning African Cup of Nations(AFCON) which they won in 2013.
Morocco took a 3-0 lead in the first half of the quarter final match before Nigeria bounced back in the second half to make it 3-3.
Ibrahim Abdulsalam scored Nigeria's winning goal in the second period of extra time to book a place in the last 4.
Mali vs Zimbabwe*
The Eagles of Mali lost by 2-1 to Zimbabwe in the second quarter final match. Mali finished as group A winners by getting a total of 7 points while Zimbabwe finished second in group B.
Zimbabwe scored a goal in either half and were almost hitting the 360th minute mark without conceding a goal until the Malians scored what turned out to be a consolation goal.
*Gabon vs Libya
Gabon played a 1-1 draw during the regulation and extra time duration of the match. The central African nation bounced back from 1-0 goal deficit to level the scores at 1-1 through a second half penalty. The match was highly entertaining as both sides gave nothing short of their best.
Libya went ahead to qualify for the semi final with a 5-3 victory during penalties. They will meet Zimbabwe on Wednesday 29th January in the first semi final clash of the day.
*Ghana vs DR Congo
The 2011 finalists-Ghana were clear favourites to win and they didn't disappoint their fans as they defeated a highly charged Congolese team. The Congolese side threw everything they had at the Ghanaians,but they failed to get a goal. They had plenty of chances to equalize, but they were wasteful in front of goal.
Morocco vs Nigeria*
The first match was played in Cape Town on Saturday between Nigeria and Morocco. Prior to that fixture the Moroccans were unbeaten in the competition after finishing as group B winners with 5 points. The North Africans defeated Uganda by 3-1 in their last group match while Nigeria were second best in group A.FREE APP
