UCL: Bayern must step up

Bayern Munich seems to have stepped down from the invincible form that drew admiration from thousands of fans from across the world. Since they won the German Bundesliga with seven matches to go, the reigning World and European club champions have not won a match. They have drawn two matches and lost to Augsburg last weekend.

Pep Guardiola must do something urgently if they intend to knock Manchester United out of the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night. The first leg ended in a 1-1 draw at the Old Trafford stadium.  Nemanja Vidic's header was cancelled by Bastian Scweinsteiger who was sent off later in the match.

The German midfielder has been ruled out of the clash at the Allianz Aerna following the red card he picked up last week.

The "parking-the-bus" mechanism could frustrate the free flowing style of Bayern as it was last week. Pep needs a plan B to nullify the negative approach that David Moyes might adopt in the match.

Wayne Rooney is very likely to start the match after he missed his team's 4-0 away victory over Newcastle United.

Bayern Munich have been struggling to beat English teams in Germany. They lost 3-2 to Manchester City after which Arsenal got a draw at the same venue. In 2012, Chelsea defeated the German giants on penalties after the match ended 1-1 at the same venue.

Prediction:
Bayern 3-2 Man United
