Super Eagles players!
There is a growing confusion in the camp of the Super Eagles of Nigeria in Kigali. The Stephen Keshi tutored side are in dilemma whether to wear an all white kit with green stockings or a combination of green jerseys and white stockings. They are also thinking of wearing green jerseys and green stockings. The confusion was created by the Rwandan FA that made it clear that their players are going to wear yellow jerseys and green socks in tomorrow's African Nations Cup qualifier.
Under FIFA rules, the home team gets the privilege of wearing their home kit and the away team is expected to appear in different colour combination. Meanwhile, the green socks of Rwanda and that of Nigeria are the same. The Super Eagles team manager is expected to be part of decision making on this matter.
In another scenario, Queens Park Rangers defender, Taiye Taiwo who is currently on a six month loan from AC Milan of Italy has expressed his displeasure at the condition of the football pitch which is an artificial turf. He said the pitch might contribute to their poor performance tomorrow. The Eagles trained on a synthetic pitch at the FIFA gold project ground in Abuja before they departed the Nigerian capital on Monday night.
The Nigerian Football Federation have also expressed their concerns about the venue of tomorrow's high profile qualifier in Kigali. The perimeter fencing across the pitch is a big worry to them. It is possible for fans of either teams to easily encroach the pitch in the course of the match without the heavy presence of security officials. Tomorrow's match will be played in the afternoon.
