Dortmund stay on top as Man City extends lead in England.



Borussia Dortmund extended their lead at the top of the German Bundesliga with a 2-1 win at home to Mainz. The visitors put a spirited effort but failed to  prevent the reigning German Champions from getting all the three points at home. The league leaders are now seven points clear of Bayern Munich in the German Bundesliga. Jakob Blaszczykowski put Dortmund in front after  26 minutes before Egyptian International, Mohammed Zidan grabbed the equalizer. Kagawa was stopped by two Mainz defenders but the ball fell to Kuba who fired his team into the lead. The Japanese later scored the second goal to ensure that the home side smiled with all the three points at stake.
In the English Premier League, Manchester City opened up a five point gap at the top of the Premiership after a 2-0 win over Bolton Wanderers. A 25th minute shot from the former Arsenal defender was deflected into the Bolton net off Adam Bogdam. Adam Johnson skipped past a host defenders before setting up Italian forward, Balotelli for the second goal with 20 minutes to go.
Elsewhere, Chelsea suffered a 1-0 lost away to West Bromwich Albion. The Blues are now three points behind fourth placed Arsenal that won away from home after a 2-1 victory at Anfield.
In Italy Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored a hat trick as AC Milan defeated Palermo 4-0 away from home.
