English Premier League round-up.

Newcastle United played a 1-1 draw at home to Sunderland at the Sport Direct Arena on Sunday afternoon. Former Arsenal striker and Danish International, Nicklas Bendtner scored from the penalty spot in the first half of the match. Nigerian born Shola Amoebi equalised for the Magpies in the injury time after coming off the bench as a late substitute. Benin Republic International, Sessegnon was sent off earlier in the second half. Lee Cattermole got a yellow card and the English man will miss his team next match against Liverpool. The first half was a little bit boring as the two teams created limited chances. The Tyneside derby draw means Alan Pardew's men are now two points behind fifth-placed Chelsea which lost to West Bromwich Albion on Saturday afternoon. The Stamford Bridge announced the sack of Andre Villas Boas 24 later.
At the Craven Cottage, Fulham defeated Wolverhampton Wanderers by 5-0. Russian Pogrebnyak scored a  hat trick while American International, Clint Dempsey grabbed a brace. The Russian started the massacre with a 36th minute header and a cool finish towards the end of the first half. The firs goal came off a Damian Duff corner.
In the mean time, League Champions, Manchester United reduced the gap between them and their city rivals to just two points after a remarkable win over Harry Redknapp's Spurs at White Hart Lane. The late Sunday kick off was Tottenham's second consecutive defeat after their 5-2 annihilation they suffered at the Emirates Stadium last weekend. Two second half  goals from Ashley Young came after Wayne Rooney had put Sir Alex Ferguson's men into the lead at half time. Gareth Bale missed the match due to injury while Rafael Van der Vaart couldn't make the starting line up as a result of a knock he picked up last week. Jermaine Defoe's late consolation couldn't save Spurs from losing at home 3-1 to Manchester United who are unbeaten against Sours in 11 years. Manchester City are on top of the standings with 66 points followed by Man United with 64 points and Tottenham are still third with 53 points. Arsene Wenger's men are fourth on the League table with 49 points, three points clear of Roberto Di Matteo's Chelsea who are in an unbelievable fifth place.
