Ibrahimovic scores goal number 22

Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored a brace to help AC Milan overcome a spirited effort from AS Roma at the San Siro on Saturday. The Swedish striker has now scored 22 goals in this season's Italian Serie A. Maarten Stekenlenburg saved Urby Emmanuelson's shot after eight minutes of play to deny AC Milan their first goal of the day. Thiago Silva couldn't play more than 10 minutes for the league leaders. He sustained an injury in Milan's 2-2 draw against Juventus last Wednesday and he was a major doubt for the match. He passed a medical test just before the match began, but he couldn't play for more than 10 minutes. Silva has now been ruled out of the Champions League clash against Barcelona later this week.

Ibrahimovic's superb free kick was saved by Stekelenberg a minute later before El Shaarawy's missed a chance some moments later. In the 44th minute, Daniele De Rossi's shot was deflected into the net by AC Milan defender, Osvaldo. The visitors led 1-0 at half time. IN the second half, Francesco Totti missed a glorious opportunity to double the lead for his side with only the goal keeper left to beat. Ironically for De Rossi, he handled the ball in the penalty box in the 51st minute and Ibrahimovic fired the ball past Dutch International goal keeper, Maarten Stekelenberg to make it 1-1. The Swedish forward scored the winner with seven minutes left when he beat Simon Kjaer and the Roma keeper to score his 22nd goal of this current league season. The Rossoneri will host a Messi inspired Barcelona at the same venue on Wednesday night while Roma will welcome Novara to the Stadio Olimpico next weekend.
