Newcastle United continued their fairy tale in this season's English Premier League after an unlikely 3-1 away win over West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns on Sunday evening. Papiss Demba Cisse scored a brace before sustaining an injury while, Shane Long's goal was in effective for the baggies to avoid a home defeat.
Hatem Ben Arfa provided the assist for the first goal that was scored by Cisse. The Frenchman's cross was slot home by the Senegalese man to put his side in the lead after just six minutes on the clock. Olsson was beaten by Ben Arfa in the 12th minute to slot the ball past Ben Foster to make it 2-0. The assist came from Cisse. The pair combined again in the 34 minute and Cisse scored his brace on that occasion.
After the break, West Brom scored a consolatory goal in the 52nd minute via a Shane Long goal.
Newcastle are now 50 points, but they are sixth because of an inferior goal difference of 2 when compared to Chelsea's 16.
