Wolverhampton Wanderers continued to wander in the relegation waters after suffering a scandalous defeat at the Molineaux Stadium against Manchester United. Javier Hernandez grabbed a brace while Welbeck,Evans and Valencia got the five goals for the Red devils. Jonny Evans opened the scoring after 21 minutes of play. Michael Carrick guided the ball towards the centre of the Wolves box after a well taken corner kick by Wayne Rooney before Evans poked home from close range. Zubar was given a second yellow card after a tackle on Rooney before he was sent off. Moments later, Rooney led a successful counter attack that was turned in by Antonio Valencia onthe 43rd minute mark.
Danny Welbeck made it three nil at half time after slotting home a pass from Valencia. Javier Hernandez scored a header off a corner that was taken by Rafael Da Silva in the 56th minute before grabbing his second goal in 61st minute mark.
Manchester United have now opened a four point gap over Manchester City that will face Chelsea on Wednesday.
