Spain knocked out of Olympics football

Despite the recent victories recorded by Spain in major football tournaments, the country's men under 23 side has been knocked out of London 2012. Honduras confirmed the exit of the Iberians after securing a 1-0 victory at the Sport Direct Arena on Sunday evening. The only goal of the game was scored in the sixth minute while the Spaniards hit the woodwork on four occasions. Chelsea's Juan Mata was very outstanding for the Europeans,but his team couldn't break down the strong defence that was put up by the CONCACAF representatives. Japan also defeated Morocco 1-0 in the other group match.
