AFCON 2013: Defending Champions are out

The 'Chipolopolo' of Zambia have been eliminated from the 29th edition of the African cup of nations in South Africa. The reigning champions played a goalless draw against Burkina Faso in Nelpruit.

After playing draws against Ethiopia and Nigeria, the 'Copper bullets' needed to beat Burkina Faso in their last group match.
The Zambians could only manage a draw and that left them with three points while Nigeria and Burkina Faso finished with five points each.

In Rustenburg, Nigeria defeated the 'Walya Antelopes' of Ethiopia by two goals to nil to finish second in group C.

The Super Eagles got the victory courtesy of two penalties that were converted by Victor Moses in the last 12 minutes of the game.

Ivory Coast will meet Algeria on Wednesday while Tunisia and Togo will fight for the last quarter final slot on the same day.
