Natiions Cup updates

The defending champions of the African cup of nations were beaten 2-0 by Angola on Sunday. The 'Chipolopolo' of Zambia failed to score a goal against the 'Palacas Negras' of Angola in a thrilling encounter.
The Zambians are in group C of South Africa 2013 with Nigeria,Burkina Faso and Ethiopia.

On Monday, Ethiopia forced Tunisia to a 1-1 draw in Doha, Qatar. The Carthage Eagles of Tunisia are in group D of South Africa 2013. The former African champions defeated Iran by 2-0 a week ago.

Emmanuel Adebayor's participation at the tournament is no more in doubt. The spokesman of the Togolese national team said that the Tottenham Hotspur striker will be in South Africa.

Toure in hospital
Manchester City striker, Yaya Toure has been hospitalised in the middle East. The Ivorian player was named as Africa's best player of the year 2012. Cote d'Ivoire is in group D of the biggest soccer showpiece in Africa.

The Ghanian FA has promised to pay $12,500 to each member of the Black stars of Ghana if they win the competition in South Africa. The last time the West African nation ruled the continent was in 1982 when they defeated Libya on penalties.

Nigeria's final 23 man squad will be released on Tuesday. Stephen Keshi has trimmed down the number of the players at the Faro camp to 27. Three home-based players and Rabiu Ibrahim were de-camped.

John Mikel Obi trained with his team mates on Monday. The Chelsea star was allegedly injured some few weeks ago, but the midfielder seems to be fit for the task ahead.
