Wigan vs Liverpool preview

Wigan Athletic will host Liverpool at the DW stadium in the late Saturday kick off. The match is one of the round of 28 matches of the prestigious English premier league.

The hosts are currently a spot above the relegation zone while the visitors occupies the 8th position on the league table. These two sides recorded convincing wins in their last league games.

Wigan defeated Reading by 3-0 at the Madjeski stadium, while Brendan Rodgers' team crushed Swansea 5-0 before the latter emerged as Capital one cup champions last weekend.

Fabio Borini will be unavailable for this match due to a long term injury.

Liverpool can move up to 6th if they win this match while West Brom and Everton lose their games. The Reds were knocked out of the Europa League about 10 days ago despite a 3-1 win at Anfield.

Aroune Kone and Al Habsi are the key men for Wigan Athletic. If the latter can provide a five star performance between the goal posts, Liverpool may find it difficult to score.

Kone is a man that Carragher or Skrtel will have to watch for 90 minutes. The Ivorian is a fast and strong striker. If Liverpool don't avoid the defensive errors they've been known for, they can be punished by him.
