Ghana have qualified for the quarter final of this year's CAF African Championship of Nations currently going on in South Africa. The Black Stars defeated the 'Walya antelopes' of Ethiopia by 1-0 on Tuesday. The West Africans finished as group C winners as a result of that win. Libya staged a memorable comeback by playing a 2-2 draw against Congo in the other group match. The Libyans were 2-0 down earlier in the first half, but two late goals gave the North Africans passage to the last 8 of the biennial tournament.
In group D, Burundi will take on Congo Democratic Republic while Mauritania will slug it out with Gabon. The group is still very open any any two of theses teams can qualify for the next round of the competition.
The host country was beaten by Nigeria on Sunday while Ethiopia,Burkina Faso Mozambique and Uganda all failed to qualify beyond the group stage.
Mali,Nigeria,Morocco,Zimbabwe,Ghana and Libya are all through to the next round.
