Benfica stopped favourites-Juventus in the semi final. The Portuguese club defeated the Italian side by 2-1 in the first leg. Conte's men were dreaming of playing the final on their home ground in Turin.

The new Portuguese champions held Juventus to a goalless draw in the second leg.

Valencia were stunned at the Mestalla stadium when a late header from Stephen Mbia sent Sevilla to the final via away goals rule.

The hosts fell by 2-0 in the first leg and needed a 3-0 victory to qualify for the final. Valencia scored the needed three goals but failed to mark Mbia in the final moments of the game.  Valencia overcame a 3-0 deficit against FC Basle in the previous round by winning the return leg 5-0.

Emery has now punished his former employers by leading Sevilla to a win over Valencia.

The 2004 champions will now focus on qualifying for next season's Europa league through the La liga.

If Sevilla should win the final, they will qualify for next season's UEFA champions league.
