Manchester United v Liverpool preview

The two most successful clubs in British football history will go head-to-head on Sunday at the Old Trafford stadium.

Manchester United have won 19 top flight league trophies while Liverpool can boast of 18 titles. Although Liverpool have never won the English premier league since the top division was restructured in 1992.

The Merseysides finished second in 2001 and 2009.

The first leg of this clash ended in a 2-1 win for Sir Alex Ferguson's men at the Anfield Road. Steven Gerrard gave Liverpool the lead before Wayne Rooney grabbed the equaliser.
Van Persie scored a 79th minute penalty after Jonjo Shelvey was sent off.

Robin Van Persie is the leading scorer in the league with 16 goals while Luis Suarez has scored 15. The two men will definitely make their impact in the duel.

Man United are 21 points ahead of Liverpool. The Reds have won their last three games in two competitions. Luis Suarez scored five goals in three matches.

David De Gea should be between the sticks for the hosts. The Spaniard must be weary of aerial balls from Raheem Sterling, Stewart Downing and Steven Gerrard.

Lucas,Allen and Gerrard must keep watch on the attacking threat of Valencia and Kagawa in the midfield battle.

Daniel Sturridge,Suarez and Sterling are the 'S3' that Liverpool will rely on if they want to score on Sunday. If Vidic or Rio should take their eyes away from any of these players, Manchester United will be punished amid the unavailability of injured Wayne Rooney.
