Yakubu: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly!

Nigerian International, Yakubu Aiyegbeni is a player that has made the headlines for different reasons. In 2010, Yakubu's missed chance against South Korea in a World Cup match entered the history books as one of the most horrible miss of the round leather game. After a good work down the left flank of the Nigerian team, Yakubu was left with an empty net to tap in a goal, but he diverted the ball away from goal and the opportunity was lost. Prior to that time, the former Everton and Middlesbrough striker has been scoring an average of 20 goals per season on England. He missed another chance to score a goal against Liverpool on Tuesday night. The Nigerian won a penalty and he tapped the ball into the hands of Brad Jones who was playing his first Premier League match of the year.
Later on, the Yak scored a brace to cover up his earlier miss from the penalty spot. He actually scored a penalty to make it 2-2 before Andy Carroll gave Liverpool a late winner at the Ewood Park. Yakubu has now scored a total of 16 goals in this year's Barclays Premiership and his five goals away from scoring 100 goals in his entire Premier League career.
