Barcelona vs Zaragoza preview

FC Barcelona have been in blistering form since the beginning of the current Spanish Primera Liga campaign. Tito Vilanova's men are currently at the summit of the Spanish league with 31 points from 11 matches while Real Zaragoza a re olaced 11th with 15 points.
Alexis Sanchez has been ruled out of the match due to an injury he sustained while playing for Chile on Wednesday. Alex Song and Adriano are major doubts for the Catalans. Spanish international, Sergio Busquets will also not feature for the home team due to suspension.

The visitors
Jose Mari will be fit to face Lionel Messi and his team mates, but the duo of Maurizio Lanzaro and Ivan Obradovic will not feature due to injury problems. Christian Sapunaru and Abraham are other players that will not play this match.

Facts
Lionel Messi remains on top of the scorers' chart with 15 goals and the Argentine will soon be Barcelona's all-time highest goal scorer in the la liga with just seven more goals.
Zaragoza have won four of their last five matches, but they've left the Nou Camp empty handed in the last four years.
A win for Zaragoza could see them move up to sixth while Barcelona will try and extend their lead over Atletico Madrid that will play against Granada later on Sunday.

FC Barcelona struggled to beat Spartak Moscow in the UEFA Champions League match that took place at the Camp Nou on Wednesday night. Lionel Messi scored a brace to give his team a 3-2 win.

Gerard Pique will join Carles Puyol and Andreas Iniesta on the sidelines. Pique sprinkled his ankle in his side's 3-2 win during the week.
Odion Ighalo, Manolo Lucena and Roberto will be missing in action for the visitors.

Returnees
Alex Song will take the place of Pique while Jordi Alba will return at the left back position. The Spaniard has recovered from influenza.
On the other hand, Antonio Floro Flores and Darwin Machis are expected to lead the attack against Barcelona's defenders despite suffering minor injuries in last week's 1-1 draw against Deportivo La Coruna.

Facts
Barca have recorded one clean sheet in their four league games while Granada are still searching for their first win of the season.

Barcelona vs Real Sociedad preview

FC Barcelona will host Real Sociedad at the Nou Camp on Sunday. Alexander Song is not going to feature in the match after he completed a £15 million move from Arsenal on Saturday. Jordi Alba will make his debut in this game. The Spanish left back joined the Catalans shortly before the start of Euro 2012 in Ukraine and Poland. His compatriot, David Villa could be on the bench after his recent recovery from a long injury spell. Thiago Alcantra is another player that will be available for the match after he shook off a tibia injury.

Carlos Vela, Chori Castro, Antoine Griezman will form a three man attack for Real Sociedad. Jose Angel will make his debut for the visitors after his arrival from AS Roma of Italy.
Sociedad have only drawn two of their last eight matches against Barcelona and lost the remaining six. If they lose today, this will be their 15th consecutive defeat at the Camp Nou. The last time Barcelona lost to Sociedad was in April 2011 when they were beaten 2-1.

Real Madrid vs Valencia preview

The Spanish league champions will commence the defense of the title they won last season at the Santiago Bernabeu. Cristiano Ronaldo will be the star attraction as the Los Blancos return to the Spanish scene on Sunday evening. Gonzalo Higuain will feature in Jose Mourinho's line up despite getting a blow in the head in Argentina's 3-1 win over Germany. Luka Modric is not expected to feature for the champions even if he sign for the team before kick off. Pepe will also play this game depite picking up an injury in Portugal's friendly match against Panama. Karim Benzema will be the front man for Jose Mourinho who wants to be called 'The Only One'.

The visitors
Joao Perreira, Fernando Gago and Andres Guardado are expected to make their debut for Valencia following their summer arrivals. Goalkeeper Vincente Guita nad Argentine midfielder, Ever Banega will miss the game due to injury.

The return of Ronaldo and Messi

Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi will return to action for their respective clubs as the Spanish Primera Liga resumes this weekend. The two World class players scored a total of 132 goals between them last season. Messi was instrumental in his country's 3-1 win over Germany in an  international friendly that was played on Wednesday. The Argentine missed a penalty and scored a goal for his team. He has been nominated alongside players like Andreas Iniesta and Ronaldo for the UEFA player of the season award. The reigning World player of the year stated that he prefers Iniesta to Ronaldo. He also blamed the media for the Ronaldo/Messi rivalry saga. FC Barcelona will meet Real Sociedad in this season's opener while Real Madrid will take on Valencia. CR7 scored a goal for his country in their 2-0 win over Panama on Wednesday. The La liga was initially threatened by a strike action due to TV right issues, but the players' professional body in Spain has cancelled that plan. Madrid won the La liga last season while Barcelona won the King's cup. The two sides crashed out of the UEFA Champions League in the semi final stage.

European League roundup

The top four battle took a new twist over the weekend when a Victor Moses inspired Wigan team defeated high flying Newcastle United at the DW Stadium. The Nigerian International scored a brace to lift his team to the 16th position on the league table with 37 points. Alan Pardew's men were very miserable in the opening 45 minutes while  Roberto Martinez's men were very clinical in front of goal. Papiss Demba Cisse had an effort that came off the bar in the second half after hos team mates tightened their defence. In the end Wigan won the match 4-0. Fernando Torres scored his first hat trick for Chelsea as his team crushed QPR at the Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon. Daniel Sturridge opened scoring within the first minute of the game before John Terry and Malouda scored goals each that were sandwiched with a hat trick from Torres. Chelsea are now 5th on the league table and they are only a point behind Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle who are both on 62 points. Chelsea will host Newcastle United at the Stamford Bridge on Tuesday while Tottenham will be the guest of Bolton Wanderers.


In Italy, Juventus kept their title hopes alive as they thrashed Novara by four unreplied goals in an away match. AC Milan also recorded a 4-1 away victory of Siena. Malaga defeated Valencia by 1-0 in the Spanish La liga.
Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 43rd league goal of the season in their 3-0 win over Sevilla on Sunday afternoon. Karim Benzema increased his goals tally to 20 when he grabbed a brace against the former UEFA Cup Champions. Lionel Messi scored a brace as Barcelona defeated Rayo Vallecano 7-0 in Sunday's late game. Messi and Ronaldo are tied on 43 goals.


In Germany, Schalke 04 and Monchengladbach booked their tickets for next season's UEFA Champions League. Kaiserslautern were slaughtered at home by 5 goals to 2 by Bundesliga Champs, Borussia Dortmund. Mario Gotze scored one of the goals for the Champions.

The Ligue 1 title might be decided before the end of the season. Montpellier recorded a win on Friday night, while PSG were beaten 2-1 by Lille on Sunday night. Carlo Ancelotti's team are now 5 points behind Montpellier in the race for the French League title. Olympique Lyonnais won the French Cup on Sunday evening.

Preview: Real Madrid V Sporting Gijon

Real Madrid will intend to continue their goal scoring spree when they host Sporting Gijon at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday night. Madrid are expected to rest some of their star players ahead of their Champions League match at the Allianz Arena next week. The match will be played just a few days before the el classico against Barcelona next Saturday. Christiano Ronaldo is one yellow card away from being suspended for the Barcelona clash. Callejon might be on the starting line up.
Sporting Gijon have only won three of their last 15 Spanish Primera Liga games. A win for Madrid is almost a surety with or without Ronaldo on the starting line up.

Ronaldo hits goal number 40 as Valencia crush Rayo.

Christiano Ronaldo scored a hat trick to take his Spanish Primera Liga goal haul to 40 this season. The Portuguese International scored a stunning free kick in the 25th minute of action against local rivals, Atletico Madrid in on Wednesday night. French International, Karim Benzema was fouled by Perea and the Portuguese fired in the free kick 30 yards from goal.
In the 55th minute, Adrian curled in a shot that was headed past Casillas by Radamel Falcao. The Colombian thought his side could come back to get a point after that goal, but Real Madrid had other ideas.
Ronaldo picked the ball from the left hand side of the Real attack before he unleashed a deadly shit that flew over the keeper and under the bar to make it 2-1 to the visitors.
Gonzalo Higuain was fouled in the Atletico box by Diego Gordin and the penalty was calmly converted by Ronaldo to make it 3-1. That was his 52nd goal of this current season.
Callejon scored a late goal to make it 4-1 for the Jose Mourinho tutored side.

Battle Royale in Europe!

This night promises to be an explosive one across major leagues in Europe. In Italy, Juventus will try and reclaim the top spot of the Italian Serie A from AC Milan that won their match by a lone goal against Chievo Verona last night. The Old Ladies of Italy will take on third placed SS Lazio of Italy in a big match that will be played in Turin. Internazionale will tackle Siena in the race for the Europa League.
The Madrid derby in Spain will be played tonight. Real will pay a visit to their neighbours in a must win game for the Galacticos that are now 1 point ahead of Barcelona. The Whites have drawn 3 of their last 5 matches and they need to win in order to restore their 4 point lead at the top of the table.
In France, Montpellier will tackle Marseille in their bid to win the French Ligue 1 ahead of big spending PSG.
In Germany, Borussia Dortmund will host Bayern Munich in a titanic battle. Dortmund are currently three points ahead of their visitors. The two teams will equally meet in the German Cup final on May 12th,2012.
Manchester United can extend their lead at the top of the table in England if they can beat Wigan Athletic, while fumbling Manchester City fail to win their match against West Bromwich Albion.

The results of these matches will certainly have an impact on the League Champions of England,Italy,Spain and Germany.

Real Madrid crush Osasuna!

Christian Ronaldo and Gonzalo Higuain scored two goals each as Madrid claimed a 5-1 away win over Osasuna in yesterday's Spanish Primera Liga match that was played at Estadio Reyno de Navarra. Karim Benzema opened scoring after just 7 minutes of action. Ronaldo's cross was volleyed into the corner of the Osasuna net from a difficult position. In the 37th minute, Ronaldo fired a shot from 40 yards and the goal keeper couldn't stop the Portuguese from grabbing his 36th league goal of the season. Spanish International, Xabi Alonso fashoined out a great pass that was converted by Gonzalo Higuain as Madrid took a 3-0 lead on the 40th minute mark.

After the restart, Roversio unleashed a cross that was headed in by Nino and the home side started dreaming of a come back. Ronaldo scored his brace with a well taken free kick in the 70th minute. Seven minutes later Gonzalo Higuain scored his 101st goal in the history of the league. Ronaldo's cross was nodded in by the Argentine striker who has now scored 20 goals in this season's Primera Liga. Real Madrid will host APOEL Nicosia in the Champions League on Wednesday before Valencia's visit to the Bernabeu next weekend while Osasuna will meet Rayo Vallecano.

Nine man Madrid slips in title race.

Real Madrid dropped two more points in the Spanish Primera Liga yesterday. The Jose Mourinho tutored side had a bad game that resulted in 2 red cards for Ramos and Oezil before "The Special One" was also sent off later in the match. Villareal got a late equaliser through a superb free kick that was taken by Marcus Senna. Real Madrid must win their next match against Real Sociedad. That match cones after Mallorca would have played against FC Barcelona.

Real Madrid were held to a one all draw in their Spanish Primera Liga match that was played on Sunday night. Jose Mourinho's men were undone by a late free kick that was converted by Cazorla. They are now eight points clear of second-placed Barcelona that won their match against Sevilla on Saturday night. Madrid's 10 point lead has now been reduced to eight as a result of that draw. Karim Benzema's first half strike appeared to have been the match winner until Santiago Cazorla's injury time free kick goal ensured that Malaga left Madrid with a point. Real Madrid failed to score several scoring chances that came their way, as Caballero made a lot of stunning saves to deny the Galacticos' a second goal of the night.

Nigerian makes history in Espanyol.

Nigerian International midfielder, Kalu Uche became the first player to score a hat trick at the new home ground of RCD Espanyol that was commissioned on 2009. Uche was instrumental in his team's 5-1 thumping of Rayo Vallecano in the Spanish Primera Liga.He opened the scoring after four minutes of play. Javier Rodriguez provided the assist for him. On-loan Inter Milan palyer, Coutinho doubled his side's advantage after 10 minutes and added his second strike on the 23rd minute mark. Kalu Uche scored his second goal just before the half time whistle.In the 54th minute, Raul Tamudo pulled one back before Uche made it 5-1 in the 68th minute.  Uche has now scored four goals in the five games he has played for his club.

Euro League previews!

Chat Soccer takes a look at the series of interesting matches that will be played across Europe this weekend.

At Anfield,Liverpool will host Arsenal in the early kick-off,Aaron Ramsey is expected to miss this clash, while Glen Johnson,Daniel Agger and Steven Gerrard are major doubts for the Reds. The Carling Cup and mid-week International friendlies are affecting the newly crowned Carling Cup holders. At the White Hart Lane, Spurs will host Manchester United on Sunday afternoon. Tottenham suffered a 5-2 away loss to Arsenal last weekend. At the Hawthorns, West Bromwich Albion will welcome 5th placed Chelsea.
League leaders Manchester City will be at the Etihad Stadium when they play against Bolton Wanderers that were bashed 3-0 by Chelsea last weekend. On Sunday 6th placed Neecastle United will meet Sunderland at the Sport Direct Arena.

 In the Spanish Primera Liga, Real Madrid will continue their prusuit of their first league crown in four years when they host Catalan-based Espanyol in a match that will be played a day after FC Barcelona would have played against Sporting Gijon at the Camp Nou. The Madrid match will be played at 20:30 GMT on Sunday. The Mourinho led team are currently 10 points ahead of Barcelona at the top of the table. Sevilla will welcome Atletico Madrid in an explosive encounter that will be coming up on Saturday night. Valencia were beaten at home 2-1 by Sevilla last weekend. The third placed team, Valencia will play away to Grananda.

The Serie A campaign continues this weekend as League leaders,AC Milan will play against Palermo in the first  match of Saturday. Second placed Juventus will host Chievo Verona. The Turin side got a last minute draw at the San Siro last weekend to maintain their unbeaten run in the league. SS Napoli  will keep a date with Parma in an away game, the Naples based club are still celebrating their 1-0 victory over Internazionale.
In another big match, their will be a local derby in Rome, the match is between AS Roma and SS lazio. These two clubs are fierce rivals and any meeting between the two capital clubs is always very tense.
Inter Milan will be at home to welcome Catania. Claudio Ranieri might be sacked if Inter lose again. In Florence, Fiorentina will host Cesena.

In the German Bundesliga,Bayer Leverkusen will host Bayern Munich in the star match of the weekend while Borussia Dortmund will host Mainz. Hamburg will meet Vfb Stuttgart, while Hertha Berlin will host Werder Bremen.
Two games will be played on Sunday as Borussia Monchengladbach will be hosted by FC Nurnberg while TSG Hoffenheim will be at home to welcome FC koln. German International, Lucas Podolski is expected to be on the starting line up  for the visitors.

In France, League leaders,Montpellier will play away against Dijon FC. The table toppers, upsurged PSG last weekend with a 1-0 victory over Girondis Bordeaux while PSG played out a 4-4 drwa against Olympique Lyonnais in an eight goal thriller. AS Nancy will welcome Lyon while Bordueax will take on OGC Nice. At the Stade de France, Olympique du Marseille will host Toulouse FC. On Sunday, PSG will host Ajaccio at 16:00 GMT. Awin for PSG coupled with a draw between Dijon and Montpellier will be enough for Carlo Ancelotti's men to get back to the top of the Ligue 1 standings.
