Liverpool defender, Daniel Agger has expressed his desire to stay at Anfield despite having two years left in his current contract with the club. The Dane said he couldn't imagine playing for another Premiership club amidst reports of a bid from Manchester City. The Danish international joined the Reds from Brondby in 2006 under the leadership of Rafael Benitez. The reigning premiership champions tabled a bid of around £18 million, but the Anfield giants rejected the offer. It has been stated that the Carling Cup holders are expecting a fee of around £23 million plus Adam Johnson before they can release their price asset. Agger is one of the best central midfielders in Europe and he has formed a perfect partnership with Martin Skrtel.
