Nigerian international, John Obi Mikel scored his first premier league goal in 185 matches. The former Lyn Oslo playmaker turned in the ball after John Terry nodded the ball across the goal line.

At the Saint James' Park, Sone Aluko scored a stunning third goal to ensure that Hull City defeated Newcastle by 3-2. The Nigerian scored a beautiful goal off a nice volley from 20 yards.

Victor Moses was on the losing side as Liverpool suffered a surprise 1-0 home defeat against Southampton. The Nigerian winger was highly impressive in the opening stages of the match,but he was well checked by Clyne. The Southampton man disturbed him from making some last minute incursion into the penalty area.

Peter Odemwingie's Cardiff City surrendered to Tottenham Hotspur with less than a minute to go. The out-of-favour Nigerian international was highly impressive throughout the match despite missing some half chances.

In Italy,Ogenyi Onazi was on the losing side as S.S. Lazio went down 2-0 against AS Roma. The Copa Italia champions end the unbeaten run of their city rivals on Sunday afternoon.

However,Victor Moses will be expected to be on the starting line up when Liverpool take on Manchester United in the Capital One cup during the week.
