Chelsea joins Real Madrid in Champions League semis

Chelsea defeated Paris Saint Germain by 2-0 at the Stamford Bridge to book a place in the semi final of this season's UEFA Champions League. The Jose Mourinho tutore side were beaten by 3-1 in the first leg that was played in Paris last week.

Schrrule put the hosts in front in the first half that was really intense. Chelsea players were very aggressive in their approach to unlock the steel of defence that was mounted by Laurent Blanc's men.

The second half was a one-way traffic, as Chelsea hit the crossbar twice while Edinson Cavani was quiet throughout the night. Javier Pastore and other PSG stars like Lucas Moura were unable to prevent the reigning French Ligue 1 champions from crashing out of the tournament for the second consecutive time. Demba Ba scored the second goal in the 87th minute to send the home fans into raptors.

Chelsea will now face the winner of the Bayern/Manchester United tie in the semi final.

Elsewhere on Tuesdy night, Real Madrid survived a big scare at the Iduna Park in Germany. Borussia Dortmund defeated the nine time champions by 2-0, but crashed out on a 3-2 goal aggregate score after the 'Bavarians' were beaten by 3-0 at the Estadio Santiago Bernebeu in Madrid.

Real Madrid will now take on the winner of the Barcelona-Atletico Madrid fixture in the semi final. This is their fourth consecutive appearance in the last four since 2011.
