Preview: Sunderland vs Liverpool

Sunderland will welcome newly crowned League Cup Champions,Liverpool to the Stadium of Light without two of their key players. Benin International, Stephane Sessegnon and Lee Cattermole were given three and four match bans respectively for their indiscipline in against Newcastle United last weekend. The match between these two sides will be played on Saturday afternoon. David Vaughan and Craig Gordon will be available for selection after their recent recovery from injury. Steven Gerrard, Glen Johnson and Daniel Agger are all doubtful ahead of this fixture. The first leg that was played on the opening day of the season ended 1-1 with Luis Suarez missing the first of eight penalties the Reds have lost in all competitions this season. Suarez eventually scored the only goal of the opening 45 minutes of that game. Liverpool have manged to get 5 points from their last six matches while Sunderland have garnered 10 points by playing the same number of games.
Martin Kelly is expected to replace Glen Johnson on the starting line up, while veteran defender, Jamie Carragher should hold the centre back role along with Matin Skrtel. Craig Bellamy is expected to start as Kenny Dalglish will be expected to make some changes in the midfield in the absence of their team captain.
