EPL week 21 review

Arsenal returned to the top of the English premier league table with a 2-1 away win over Aston Villa on Monday night.  The Gunners scored twice within a minute and went into the break with a 2-0 lead. Jack Wilshere scored the first goal before Oliver Giroud doubled the lead in the 34th minute.

After the restart, Christian Benteke scored the only goal for the hosts with a flying header in the 75th minute, but that was not enough to end Aston Villa's hoodoo since 1998. That was the last time they defeated Arsenal at the Villa park.

Earlier on Saturday,  Manchester United defeated Swansea City by 2-0 while Chelsea defeated Hull City by thr same margin at the KC stadium. Tottenham recorded their fourth win in five matches with a 2-0 success against Crystal Palace.

At the Goodison Park, Everton overcame Norwich City by 2-0. The bad news for the Toffees is the toe injury that was sustained by Barkley.

At the Craven Cottage, Fulham suffered a huge loss by going down 4-1 to Sunderland.  Adam Johnson scored his first career hat trick in that game.

Newcastle United were beaten at home by Manchester City. The visitors were 2-0 winners courtesy of goals from Edin Dzeko and Alvaro Negredo.

The biggest drama of the weekend was at the Britannia stadium where Stoke City lost 5-3 to Liverpool. The visitors raced to a 2-0 lead after 37 minutes before Charlie Adam and Peter Crouch levelled for the hosts.
