Nigeria and South Africa to fight for AYC ticket.

Nigeria's under 20 men team defeated their Tanzanian counterparts by 4-1 aggregate score in the last 32 of the CAF African Youth Championship qualifiers. The reigning African champions had won the first leg by two goals to one in Dar-es-Salaam a fortnight ago. The second leg encounter was played at the Ilorin township stadium, in North Western part of Nigeria on Sunday afternoon. Coach John Obuh expressed his delight after 20 members of his former team were de-camped for failing the FIFA mandated Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) test to determine the true age of the players. Abduljelil Ajagun scored Nigeria's first goal in the 14th minute off a brilliant shot that beat Aishi Manula who was in goal for the visitors. Bright Ejike's goal celebration in the 1st minute was ended by the Liberian referee who disallowed the headed goal without a cogent reason. Alhaji Gero doubled the lead via a penalty kick that was awarded to the hosts after a Tanzanian defender handled the ball in the vital area.South Africa also triumphed over their opponents and they will host the reigning African champions on September 22nd in Johannesburg before flying to Nigeria for the return leg two weeks later. The 'Amajita' of South Africa defeated the Flying Eagles of Nigeria in an invitational tourney that was played in Cape Town some months ago.

ABS FC to host Dolphins in an empty stadium.

Abubakar Bukola Saraki FC of Ilorin will on Wednesday evening play their outstanding Nigerian Premier League match in an empty stadium. This is as a result of the crowd violence that ensued between the fans of Kwara United and Sunshine Stars of Akure at the same venue last weekend. Dolphins FC are  Nigeria's reigning League Champions and the Port Harcourt team will be very pleased with this scenario. Dolphins are through to the second round of this year's CAF Champions League after a 6-0 aggregate win over El Nguema of Equatorial Guinea. The Nigerian Premier League have witnessed 11 round of games with Enugu Rangers leading the table with 22 points.
